Who invented the internet?
Not one person. ARPANET, funded by the US Defense Department in 1969, was the first working packet-switched network. Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn designed TCP/IP in the 1970s. Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (a service that runs on the internet) in 1989.

Web vs internet — same thing?
No. Internet = the network. Web = pages you browse. Email, gaming, streaming use the internet but not the web.
