Chapter 10 — Science & Nature
Can dogs see color?
Yes — but only two hues, roughly yellow and blue. Red and green look the same (grayish) to them. Their real superpower is smell (10,000× better than humans), not vision.
Follow-up questions
Best toy color?
Blue or yellow — actually visible to them. Red balls on grass basically disappear.
How well do they see at night?
Better than humans — more rods, and a reflective layer (tapetum lucidum) that bounces light back.
