Chapter 06 — Family & Parenting
When can I sleep train my baby?
Most methods work from 4–6 months, once babies can self-soothe. Ferber (gradual check-ins), 'chair method' (gradually leave), and 'cry it out' all work; the right one is the one you can follow consistently.
Follow-up questions
Is cry-it-out harmful?
Studies find no long-term harm to attachment or emotional health when done at appropriate age.
Naps too?
Sleep training usually improves naps within 1–2 weeks after night sleep stabilizes.
